Whatsapp to add new stickers and dark mode to the Desktop App




WhatsApp is rolling out some exciting new updates this coming week. The new update to Facebook-owned messaging application will include :

Animated Stickers:

Stickers are one of the fastest-growing ways people communicate on WhatsApp. WhatsApp is rolling out new animated sticker packs that are even more fun and expressive. Animated stickers were already available for messengers like Hike.

QR codes:

Adding a new contact will be getting a lot easier. You will be able to scan a QR code to add someone to your contacts. This will save you from tapping in their digits one at a time.

Dark mode for WhatsApp web and desktop:

The incredibly popular Dark Mode theme will now extend to your computer. This will be a nice feature since a lot of people use WhatsApp on their computer while working.

Improvements to group video calls

Now up to 8 people can be on a video call. Whatsapp has made it easier to focus on whoever you want by letting you press and hold to maximize a participant’s video to full screen. They also added a video icon in group chats of 8 or less, that lets you easily start a group video call with 1-tap.

Microsoft freshens up Windows Start menu and Alt-Tab

Microsoft is introducing some minor changes in its design for Windows 10. These changes affect the start menu and the Alt-Tab multitasking feature. With these new changes, Microsoft seems to be moving towards a minimalistic and less chaotic design for the Start menu. “ We are freshening up the start menu with a more streamlined design that removes the solid colour backplates behind the logos in the apps list and applies a uniform, partially transparent background to the tiles ” reported the blog . This reduces the amount of blue colour you see on your tiles and makes it look less chaotic.
