Huami launches the Amazfit Bip S in India at 4,999/-

Huami has launched its new smartwatch, the Amazfit Bip S in India. The watch has been priced at Rs.4,999. It is a fitness-focused smartwatch with various sports mode. The company is also promising a battery life of 15 days with typical usage and upto 40 days with basic usage on a single charge. The watch that was first spotted at CES in January is now available to the Indian consumers.

The watch weighs around 31g and flaunts a transflective colour display of 1.28 inch. The display is always on. Transflective displays differ from traditional LCDs in that they reflect light. They perform even better in outdoor environments, since the brighter the sunlight is, the clearer the display looks, making it ideal for outdoor sports. The display gets 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The company claims the Amazfit Bip S features an anti-fingerprint coating on top of the display.

The watch comes with 10 sports mode to assist the user in various activities and is waterproof up to 50 meters with 5ATM water resistance. You can also use the watch for tracking your swimming activity as well. It supports Bluetooth v5.0 connectivity as well as GPS and GLONASS for location tracking. Bip S wearable will come with sensors like PPG Bio-Tracking Optical Sensor, 3-axis acceleration sensor, and 3-axis geomagnetic sensor.

The watch is available online as well as offline. You can order the watch from Amazon, Flipkart or their official website. It comes in 4 exciting colours.

The Bip S goes up head to head against the Realme Watch which was launched recently. Realme has priced the watch very aggressively at Rs. 3,999. Realme Watch offers a more tech-heavy experience as compared to Amazfit but fails to perform as well on the field. Amazfit offers a better experience for sports enthusiasts. The Bip series uses transflective displays which might be better visible in sunlight. However, the general brightness of the display is lower than a normal LCD display as on the Realme Watch. Realme provides a slightly bigger display of 1.4 inches at a lower price and comes with 14 different sport modes. Realme Watch might have a lower price tag and a bigger display, but Huami has positioned Amazfit as a more fitness-oriented wearable. https://bit.ly/2NpsdPQ
